"You can't spend your whole life trying to bow and scrape and please other people. Some people will never get you — and those people will never deserve you, either. You're wasting your energy and dimming your flame trying to make them happy.
Your job is to find the people who see what you bring, and get excited about it!
If the company you're interviewing with is willing to forget the pay stub request, then go ahead and continue the interview process.
If you like the offer and you like the people, it might be a great match. If you get any more warning signs that scream "Run away!," you will heed the warnings.
